  • ORIGIN: 300-2000 m. China (Chongqing, Northeast Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Zhejiang). Robert Fortune discovered this cultivated shrub in a Shanghai nursery and introduced it in 1846.
